Jurgen Klopp praises West Ham ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League opener

Jurgen Klopp has been very complimentary of West Ham ahead of the Premier League starting for the new season.

His side of course take on the Hammers in their opening fixture, and Klopp noted that their side is full of quality players – and that they are a good football team.

He also added they will be ambitious, but that his side know that, and will have to be ready for it and willing to counteract that.

Sky Sports report he said: “He has brought in good players and if you go through the team of West Ham it could be a completely different team. It could be Arnautovic, Yarmolenko, Anderson Wilshere, Noble, [all lining up] Cresswell back – that is a good football team.

“They are really ambitious but it’s the first home game for Liverpool and people expect us to win. I expect the same. It will be a brutal 90 minutes. We have to be ready for that but it is easy not to underestimate them.

“It’s the first game of the season so no analysis really exists. You have to think who will play or not. For the first games it’s always like this, but it’s no problem. I’m looking forward to it.”

Liverpool’s own transfers

Of course, the Hammers aren’t the only ones to do good business this summer.

They’ve managed to get in key players, and the fact they’ve now got a goalkeeper who won’t be prone to errors on a constant basis is going to be huge for the club.

Alisson Becker may no longer be the man who holds the record for the most expensive goalkeeper in history, but he’s certainly one many consider to be the best – and even if people opt for David De Gea as the best in the world, Liverpool fans and Klopp will be hoping Alisson changes that opinion.
