After winning the Premier League with Leicester, as a key part of their title winning side, plenty of major clubs were linked with Kante.

Chelsea won the race and according to leaked documents it was due to agents’ fees.

French law limits commissions to 10% of the transfer amount, a limit that does not exist in England.

According to an internal PSG document that was located by Football Leaks and quoted by Mediapart, with a commission of just 10%, it was “almost certain” that Kanté would not come to Paris.

N’Golo Kante’s agents hit the jackpot!

As a result, when Kante left Leicester for Chelsea, his two agents bagged significant sums over the move.

Grégory Dakad received €7.2 million and Abdelkarim Douis €4.8 million.

The transfer fee for Kante was a scandalously low fee of just 38.5 million euros.

Football Leaks even claim to have an email in their possession from Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia who writes to owner Roman Abramovich.

“Do not faint!”

In said email, Granovskaia warns Abramovich “do not faint” with regards to the agents fees for the transfer of Kante.

It may come as a surprise to many that N’Golo Kante’s major career move so far was directed by his agents.

Nevertheless, Chelsea have been huge beneficiaries with Kante starring for the west London club and winning the Premier League and FA Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
